Premiere: Stream Fielded’s introspective, lush new record ‘Chuckles Deluxe’


The new album from Brooklyn’s Lindsay Powell is a beautiful, unflinching exploration of identity and self-expression; it feels like a record they needed to make. Their sixth as Fielded, it follows on from 2023’s Plus One.

We premiered ‘Lost Youth’ last month and are delighted to say we’re streaming the entirety of Chuckles Deluxe ahead of release tomorrow. This is a richly textured album that benefits highly from a headphones listen, exemplified by early highlight ‘Salome’. Per Powell, the song ‘is about being completely misunderstood in your femininity or femme identity, interpreted as manipulative, the cause and source of pain; overwhelmingly powerful and still somehow an object to be projected upon.’ They expand on this for us, and yes, we’re posting the whole thing:
