Phoebe Go is the luminous solo project of Phoebe Lou — once the golden voice behind Snakadaktal and the minimalist pulse of Two People. Emerging from Melbourne’s indie cradle and now calling Sydney home, Lou’s evolution into Phoebe Go is less a reinvention and more a distillation. Her 2024 debut album Marmalade is a quietly devastating alt-pop record that glows with emotional clarity, pulling threads from her previous incarnations into a cohesive and compelling whole.
Tonight at the Sydney Opera House, she steps into her own spotlight for Vivid Live. After a week of relentless rain, the skies ease just in time — a quiet reprieve for a crowds watching the vibrant Vivid lights at Circular Quay. Inside the Studio, Phoebe Go is awash in soft blue light, her presence understated but magnetic. There’s no need for theatrics. She holds the room with ease — every breath, every chord, every silence between songs feels intentional and real. As the light from Vivid flickers across the harbour, inside it’s Go who glows the brightest.
